Back at Fanshawe College: A Full-Circle Moment at the LEAP Junction Entrepreneurship Summit
Last night was one of those moments that makes you pause and take it all in.
I had the honour of returning to Fanshawe College to speak at the LEAP Junction Entrepreneurship Summit, and walking back onto campus felt deeply meaningful. Fanshawe is a place where ideas are born, confidence is built, and futures quietly begin to take shape. Being invited back, this time to share my own journey, was something I did not take lightly.
The evening was all about honesty. Entrepreneurship is often painted as glamorous or fast-moving, but the reality is far more layered. We talked openly about what it truly looks like to choose entrepreneurship as a career path. The wins, the missteps, the moments of uncertainty, and the lessons that only come from trying and failing forward. My hope was that students left feeling less pressure to have it all figured out and more permission to simply start.
What stayed with me most were the conversations. The thoughtful questions. The curiosity in the room. The quiet bravery it takes to even consider building something of your own. There was a shared understanding that entrepreneurship is not about perfection, but about persistence, adaptability, and believing in yourself enough to take the first step.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who played a role in creating such a meaningful experience. From the LEAP Junction team to the organizers and fellow speakers, it was clear how much intention and care went into making this event a space where students could learn, connect, and feel supported.
If you are a student or early-stage entrepreneur, this is an important reminder. The 10th Cohort of LEAP is now accepting applications for business funding and support to help you get started. Opportunities like this exist to meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.
Thank you, Fanshawe College, for the warm welcome and for continuing to invest in future entrepreneurs. Nights like this are a powerful reminder that growth often begins with community, conversation, and the courage to try.
